Reopening of 'The Apton'
Updated: Oct 22, 2020
During the last few weeks we have been working hard behind the scenes getting ready to return our members back into the centre. This was no mean feat, yet, under the careful eye and instruction of our Cook (and general all rounder Weena Jones), we were put to task to ensure the centre offered a fresh, Covid-19 safe and inviting space in which we welcomed back some of our many missed faces.
From old to new - our transformation. This task involved the support of many volunteers who helped us paint, weed and declutter the site and the generous donations from local businesses.
We would like to thank our many volunteers for all their time and effort in giving the centre a much needed overhaul and fresh coat of paint thanks to Homebase!
To both Nikki and Lisa from Barrington Funeral Directors, we would like to give you a massive thank you for responding to our call for help and coming to our aid by providing us with our lovely new, wipe clean, reclining chairs which have changed the look and feel of our day room completely.
We would also like to thank Daniel Robinson & sons for the new Smart T.V. which will be shelved and homed soon.
The fresh new look has certainly gone down well with our returning members and we couldn't be prouder of of our centre and the resilience shown during this very trying year.
