Get ready with your broomsticks, Halloween comes to The Apton Centre!
The lovelies in October had a month full of spooky treats and activities as they prepared for another Halloween at The New Apton Centre!
The staff and volunteers decorated the centre with pumpkins, cobwebs and witches hats while Activities Coordinator Hilary successfully set up home our temporary Centre guest, a giant hanging spider! It took some effort but I think Mr Spider was comfortable in the end!
To help the team and add their own personal touch, the lovelies got to work and showed off their talents throughout the week to add the finishing touches. They did this by hand-making additional miniature ghosts and amazing skull, creepy crawly and pumpkin ornaments for our themed tree!
When Halloween was upon the centre, our clients and volunteers swapped their bus tickets and cars for broomsticks as well as their usual attire for some amazing Halloween costumes to entertain our lovelies.
With witches, devils and a skeleton or two, the day was full of fun Halloween quizzes and games. Not wanting to be left out, in house chef Weena also joined into to act by making a ghoulish dinner treat in the shape of a carved out pumpkin!
Now the Halloween decorations have been taken down and Mr Spider has gone back on home, the Centre prepares for its next festive event, Christmas. For all you Halloween fans however, do not despair as although the witches and ghouls may have left till next year, we always have some cheeky lil monsters that are with us all year round!
