In support of the elderly in Ukraine, Age Concern the New Apton Centre held an art exhibition at the centre the 28th of April

to raise funds for Age International's Ukraine appeal.

Works exhibited were by local artists including Age Concern's Art Group which meets every Thursday at 1:30-3:30 as well as the centres staff, Weena Jones and Toni Frostick.

Art works were sold for either Pay What YOU Can, set prices as well as selected works being sold at auction. Local artist Gunta Andrews original embroidered scene, North Street, sold for an amazing £375 and was the highest bid at the auction.

The Little Art's Workshop as well as Coco's were local businesses that contributed to the event. Visitors also included Councillor Richard Townsend and contemporary artist Nicola Anthony.

The night was a huge success with over £1583.12 raised, with all monies going to Age Internationals Ukraine appeal.
